The very thin setting is actually there and is the default. However, OneNote
also supports pressure sensitivity, so if you press hard, the ink line gets
thick. Try pressing as softly as you can and still make a mark - see how
thin that is? That's the actual pen tip thickness. You can also see it by
using the mouse to write and not the pen. You can turn off pressure
sensitivity in Tools/options/handwriting, but since smoothing is also
applied automatically the ink will still seem thicker than you may want. It
can't really be thinner than a couple of pixels (about 0.5mm) without
looking jagged on screen, even with smoothing on, since the screen is
fundamentally pretty low-res compared to real-life analog pens. We are going
to try to adjust this for the next release (no promises). You would get
jagged looking ink on screen if you got too thin, but it would still print
out nicely (assuming you care about printing) since printers are much higher
resolution than the screen.

Cheers,
