Yes, that is precisely what I would like. then the structure would be
common-sense and simple to navigate like a real ring-binder would be. Also,
the sections and folders and pages should be able to be alphabetically sorted
too. I am sure this can be done with a very simple XML implementation of the
various files and folders, then representing that graphically in Onenote...
come on you programming guys.... Just make the information a structure like
the files and folders are represented in windows Explorer... or in the
outline view of Word. This should be extremely simple with XML. also the
pages and sections can be coloured as a person wishes. All the COM and API
calls for this are readily available in the .NET collection... this could be
done and even be toggled as the enduser wishes. Even VBS, or almost any
scripting could call the file and folder names and headings and show them in
a collapsable list format. I know this can be done.
Post by srdSpeaking of treelike collapse and expand operations, what kind of
programming effort would it take to provide a tree with My Notebook at the
top, followed by the entire data structure, from folders to sections to
pages and subpages? Heruclean, trivial, or something between? (Somehow I
doubt it could be done, but the ideal would be to continue this through to
the hierarchical structure of the individual subpages.) This would be a
separate approach to organizing the data, manipulating the tree structure
graphically.
This would give OneNote most of the advantages of its numerous tree
outline database competitors, while retaining its unique approach.

Post by Craigwhen viewing pages and subpages, allow me to collapse all pages / some pages
so i an see all pages on the screen at once.
thanks
Craig,
Others have requested this previously. I think it's a good idea. It
becomes more useful as the number of pages in a section rises.
