not smooth, jagged handwriting

No smoothing is being applied to my handwriting (as it is in Journal,
for example). It doesn't look nice at all. When printing to a pdf, all
the little wiggle and jitter come as bumps on the curve, all described
in vector, making the pdf file quite large. I'd like it not only
fixed, but to be able to control how much smoothing is applied like in
some vector drawing applications (Illustrator, XaraX,
ExpressionDesigner): sometimes I only want to get rid of the high
frequency noise, sometimes I want a straight line out of a wavy one.
Have tried several pens, with different thickness. Pressure
sensitivity works well, though.

While I have not used ON with an external digitizer, I don't think ON will
do the smoothing you're looking for. When ON captures Ink from the
tablet/stylus, it will record it as it receives the input. No other fixing
of the Ink is done, and under normal circumstances, it is not needed.

This is definitely a bag, even if it doesn't affect you. Could be an
issue with the wacom vista drivers, but Journal removes high-frequency
jitter alright. OneNote's key role is to take handwritten notes. I
don't know what you mean by "under normal circumstances"
